Music and Bird Songs: Sounds from Nature with Commentary and Analysis

Details

A 10-inch LP produced by James H. Fassett (1904-86), director of CBS Radio's music department, with help of Peter Paul Kellogg, Professor of Ornithology and Biological Acoustics at Cornell University, and published by Cornell's Comstock Publishing. The recording slows down bird vocalisations to half, quarter, and one-eight of its speed. The record builds on a musical composition that Fassett produced in 1955, Symphony of the Birds and first aired during the intermission from a New York Philharmonic broadcast.
